feeding change, please help

mustaf91 Jun 29, 2006 01:58 PM

when i first got him, i was feeding my leo crickets but later switched to mealworms. I am contemplating whether i am going to go back to crickets but im afraid that if i switch to crickets he wont be able to catch them. I am afraid the mealworms have made him lazy and it might be hard for him to hunt crickets. Also, The last couple of days the urine part of his stool has been brown. I was like this two days ago, it was fine again yesterday, but this morning there was another brownish one. Any help would be appreciated.

You should be seeing white in the leos urine if you are dusting it's food with calcium and vitamins. If you aren't dusting, start now, if you are dusting, take it to a vet...there's a problem.
Crickets v. meal worms is a hot debate. I think it's best to feed both but mostly crickets at feeding time with a plate full of meal worms in the enclosure always handy for a snack or replacement if needed.
