Second shed

Ragamuffin Jun 29, 2006 04:00 PM

One of my ball pythons is experiencing his first shed since we bought him. He's having a little issues, it's not coming off in one chunk and he's struggle to get everything off. I noticed about a couple hours later that there is a pile of a brown sludge like goup in the tank and smudge marks where he has been moving around the tank. At first glance I thought it was blood but I looked at it closer and I don't think it is. He's been moving around just fine and (I haven't taken him out of the take just yet so as to give him sometime to work on the shed) have not seen any sort of damage to his belly. I have looked around and have not seen anything mentioning this with sheds. Does anyone know anything about this?

I agree with pizzacoolio,

That was one of my thoughts but it's a large spread out pile and typically his poop is white, that's why it caught me by surprise. Also, I'v never seen anything like that with my rosy boa or corn.

the white stuff is urates the brown stuff is POOOOOOOOOOPAY,some of my girls lay hamburger patties and some of my girls lay tootsie rolls alot of it depends on how active they are and if they climb over it or not. I have one girl that can poop like a cocker spaniel and you know when she poops cause you can smell it hahahahahaha

My girl is like that too. She packs away medium rats and then poops out something that looks like a rotty was in her cage.

All my snakes poop when they shed. It's normal.
