Is there any difference in the growth rate between males and females in the first year?

I think if both are feeding consistently, then no. I have had females eat like pigs, males eat like pigs and both eat like it was a danger to their lives. I don't think there's anything genetic, etc. that would result in a different growth pattern in the first year.

Good question. Now, you'll have me thinking all day - there go the smoke detectors
