I was under the impression that Ball pythons can't get over 6 feet long. But I talked to a guy thats owned dozens of snakes all his life and he said he got a Ball python to 8 and a half feet. Is that possible?

no im not sure if thats possible the biggest ball python ive ever seen on this forum was close to six. he was probably sold a burmese,a rock, or a boa and didnt know the difference. be carefull who you talk too. some people think they know alot, but all they really know is what they learn from pet shops (and we all know how knowligeable they are ) he may have owned dozens of snakes, but that doesnt mean anything. this guy sounds too me like one of those guys that has no idea that pet stores arent perfect and the snakes he buys from them arent healthy and might not even be what they say they are. ive had pet stores tell me ball pythons average size was 6 feet.

same thing with me, the largest iv'e seen was around 6ft also, not sayin they can't reach 8 ft but if it did it would have had to be powerfed but it is still unlikely in my opinion
