pissy pacman...no pun intended

JamiePapas Jun 30, 2006 03:54 AM

I have a male pacman named, Dumpy. You all probably know that when you tap or touch your pacman (and its a male) it'll make a lil calling sound. well...one day (when he started calling, just not often) I wanted to hear what he sounded like, so I picked him up and touched him lightly on his back with moist fingers...well...it did work. He did make a sound, but thats not all he made. I think, just to gross me out so I'd put him down ( or maybe just for spite ) he peed ALL over my hand. It got all over me and my carpet. And he did get what he wanted, I did put him down. And then, insted of having my fat frog, I had a lil skinny frog. I always wondered why pacmans were so fat, now I know because they're filled with water lol! Just thought this was a funny story, and wondered if this has happened to anyone else?

U really can't blame the poor thing. If a giant picked you up, you would probably pee yourself too.

Anyway, the action was a defense mechanism. You should not hold your Pacman unless you have to (to clean his tank, feeding, etc). When you do hold it make sure you hold it over a table or bathroom counter, Pac's can also jump from your hand (and trust me this has happened) and fall to the floor, which is not good. The peeing is also bad, because like you mentioned the Pac is now skinny and will have to consume/absorb water. Frogs need water to survive and breathe so this defensive peeing is not good.

Also about the croaking. Now that you know that you have a male and that he does croak, buy a tape recorder. At night if he is croaking record him and on later nights when you would like to hear him croak, just play the tape and he will most likely croak. The reason for this is becuase he will think there is another male around and for terriotory/mating purposes he will compete against this intruder.

Good luck and enjoy you Pac
