You are a great advertisement for VPI!! Thanks Joe and Wes and congratulations for doing a great job raising all the animals and breeding them. It is very exciting to see how the caramel, clown, genetic stripe, and VPI axanthic projects have done so well in your capable hands and I sincerely mean that. I am happy when anyone who gets animals from us does well (and they are all good advertisements for VPI as well!). Your hard work has certainly paid off. No doubt your customers will continue to do good work with the animals they buy from you, and will also do well. These projects took years to develop from the original wildcaught founders and there is no doubt that they are the originators of whole captive born lineages--everyone should be very proud of that fact--everyone who works on these projects is contributing to a population of animals that is 100% captive hatched and bred with amazing genetic diversity. Pat yourselves on the back for insuring that future herpers will get to enjoy the amazing variation in ball pythons because of this work. When you really think about it--some of these lineages were founded by a single animal--if it hadn't been found we wouldn't have even known it existed, if it hadn't been bred, we and future herpers would have missed out on the experience of having such a neat morph.

Tracy,

You are correct about the time and investment that you had to accomplish just to make it possible for breeders like MKR to accomplish their goals. What an amazing example of how and what this is all about. Wonderful to know that "it can be done". This is what we are all striving for on one level or another. When MKR first started "no one" thought they could achieve exactly what they have achieved. Congrats to you Tracy for being not only an inspiration but also for being one of the most important breeders of all time. Your achievements are already a benchmark to be respected and admired. MKR has achieved goals to be very proud of also. How many times has some one on this forum spoken of the "Big Breeders" as if they were the only ones that could achieve such success? MKR has done their success from the ground level of starting an "entire collection "and raising them up for breeding and then carefully deciding how to achieve their goals. No on gave them their success or their animals. Just like you Tracy, MKR had to make their own success. In fact MKR paid top dollar years ago for their morphs “more than they are worth now” because it takes time to build a collection and breed them. I have purchased three of the Axanthic females “VPI” line from MKR. Joe and Wes are more excited than me about adding them to my collection and not because they sold them to me but instead because they actually love those animals and get excited when their clients add them to new collections. Unlike some people in this business Joe and Wes are actually happy when their customers succeed with their collections just the same way you have expressed your feelings about the animals you have sold MKR over the years. Just to let you know Tracy, the first few times I called you years ago I was actually very shy about speaking with you. You were kind and you were generous not only with your time but also with your information. I appreciate that very much.

Sincerely, Kyle

I always enjoy talking shop with you Tracy, you have so much wisdom. This is for me, the most exciting time in herpetoculture, never before has a python species shown such diversity and potential. We are just starting to really have fun combining multiple genes from the different morphs, every year something surprising crops up! Back in the early 90's when I was road hunting near Marfa Texas and visiting you husband Dave's high school teacher and drooling over his collection of Grey banded Kingsnakes, I never would have dreamed this industry would have come so far! so much has changed since then.
I am really glad to be able to contribute to it's future.
Thank you for all you've done to make herpetoculture exciting!

Before this was part time. Now it is full time and this is how we doose it at MKR.. I did it with my bulldog Dolce take a bite out of it. But you are right Chopper are one in the same.. I was number in cars in my area. I run my snake business the same way..HIT THE GAS!!!...

I had the dealership for 16 years and cranked it out.. It is funny I did what Chopper is doing 10 years ago on TV. I used to send Rapl Davis my commercials when I first got in the bus 6 years ago. He knows all about take a bite out of it. Ask him.. It is what every successfull car dealer does in each market. This snake business is not rocket science. It is the people that are in it that are confusing it. This is like any other business. Low overhead is the key..People need to lok at thing s outside the box. That is how it is done..

Do you think we might see some 30 minute internet spots for snakes in the future? LOL. Id watch it. I finish school in a month and plan to start breeding some balls and hogs. Im going to start out slow and work my way up without going in to debt. Ill only buy what I can afford tp pay for then or relatively soon after. A little common sense and some luck from the odds gods, and I cant imagine not making a few bucks in a few years. And by a few, I mean at least 3 dollars profit.

Just don't go into debt if you can. Everything that we have is paid for. No loans period. Facilities everything. Keep your overhead low my friend and you will do just fine...

How can I disconnect the seatbelt alarm in my Tahoe? It's a pain in the rear to listen to on short trips where I don't buckle up!

As a recent graduate of the NC State Safe Drivers course , I feel it is my duty to tell you to just put on the seatbelt. If you can stand it on a long trip, surely you can stand it on a short one. haha
