Ok ready for the door part of cage

Melisssss Jun 30, 2006 02:15 PM

I have the box part done on a 4x2x16" cage out of birch plywood. I currently have 3 coats of polycrylic on there. How many more do I need?

how does everyone construct their door frames for sliding doors?

This has been a learning experience for sure. It's by no means a perfect cage. But I am learning about bad cuts the hard way

I have put together my best first effort and am expecting cage 2 and 3 to come out much better.

I plan to use computer fan grills for vents and I am figuring that I need 4 along the back wall. Sound good?

One of two ways. I either use a face frame made from solid wood, like you can see at FineGTP.com or simply cut strips of plywood that fit between the sides of the cage. This latter method is easier to construct in some ways but a bit harder to make square.
