Blood Trio Breeding

BurmMania Jun 30, 2006 03:06 PM

I have now talked to two different people who keep their trios of black bloods housed together year round and have absolutely no problem breeding them. I was wondering if this is a common thing to do for black bloods? I have a trio myself and would love to keep them all in the same enclosure, but I am worried that they wont "take to" when breeding if housed together......?

Well I can't say I have yet..still getting mine up to size, but with our borneos..erik used to house them together year round, and got a clutch every year no problem from them, and ever since separating them..sure they will breed when put together but no eggs since 04..odd IMO. I know not everyone keeps their bloods and short tails together..Im hoping to get past it and get some eggs from the other up and comers for next year. Perhaps chat with some other people getting eggs if they are willing to share how they do things..as well every breeder does things different typically.
