I am going to michigan later this month and was wondering if anyone know the rules and regs for herping there? and if anyone ever found any milks on mackinac island, or the traverse city area?

for herping in michigan you will need to buy a fishing license and the guide book states that reptiles can only be taken for private use.
according to the book "michigan snakes" the easterm milk is native to the lower peninsula and several counties just north of the bridge but not on the island itself.
