he didn't touch his mealworms all day, but soon as i put the turkey in he went after it....but he pulled it out of the bowl and it got covered with the substrate and i don't think it would be good to eat that. so i tossed it and put some fresh turkey in the bowl (cleared a spot around the bowls this time) but he hasn't touched it yet...so how long should i let it sit in there before i toss it if he doesn't eat it?

the mealworms are now eating the turkey, is that ok?

Mine seem to prefer their food aged (fermented)unless it's mice or crickets. Also depends on when and how much they have eaten in the last day or two. They may pick at eggs, mashed potatos, fruit, etc the first day. By the second day they will have eaten their fill. I have not tried SDZ or ground turkey. Around my house two days is as long as my wife will let me leave it. I am guessing that they will eat carrion in the wild and it is hard to say how bad it would have to be before they wouldn't eat it. Might be an interesting experiment if you're single.

I mix my turkey in with some hardboiled Eggs, as recommended by LLLReptiles and he loves it.

i thought eggs were only good occasionally for a treat?
will my hatchling do ok on a diet of supplemented turkey and mealworms?

I only give it to him once a week.
