my local pet store guy told me that..

i went looking for provent-a-mite at my pet store but they didnt have it and the guy told me that this thing that was used for birds mites and lice was good also fo reptile mites, so i sprayed my whole cage today and im letting it sit va nite and putting my snake back in it in da morning is that ok?

I've always heard that bird mite stuff was.. .bad for birds... but see if you can tell what the active ingredient is. There's human lice spray on the market that's almost the same thing as p-a-v, if this bird stuff doesn't work i'd try that. It's sold as 'lice bedding spray' and the main ingredient is.. permethrin.. i think... some P word anyway.

Pyrethrins and also Piperonyl Butoxide Technical...

Well... make sure you air out the cage very well... I'm really trying to jog my memory here but... I think pyrethrins can cause neurological symptoms in herps. Usually reversible, though, I think. I have no idea what the other stuff is. Good luck!
