Does this sound right for incubating?

jusmebabe Jul 01, 2006 09:19 PM

I caught a desert kingsnake last week. This afternoon I discovered 14 eggs. The eggs were stuck together.
I placed them in vermiculite in a rebbermaid container and the container inside my homemade incubator.
The bottom eggs are underneath the verm and verm placed around the top eggs.
I have the temp at a steady 83f.
I placed 2 tiny holes in the lid.
Does this sound about right? If not please feel free to make suggestions.
Thanx for any input.

I use moist vermiculite but I do not bury the eggs.

If the eggs are clumped how do you cover the bottom eggs?

Use a larger container....they don't need to be covered at all...just set them on the mosit vermiculite. Leave them stuck together.
