Sandhills Corn that I caught 4/05

ECC Jul 02, 2006 11:19 AM

This female is the 1st Corn snake that I ever caught. I caught her on a dead pine tree in Richmond County, NC in April of 2005. I was with Zee, Michael Coone, and Kevin Castellucci. We went back this year and uncovered a lot more stuff than in 2005.

I took some updated pictures of five of my six Sandhills Corns today (these snakes were all caught by Zee, Coone, Castellucci, and I between April of last year and April of this year. I hope to produce some of these next year.

This is easily the prettiest Corn that I have ever seen. She has the widest black bordering of any Corn I own including my Abbott Okeetee's. She is just Outstanding.

Enjoy.

Here are some pictures of a male Sandhills Corn that Michael Coone caught in a pile of trash in April of this year. I can't remember if he caught him in Scotland or Richmond County.

Either way, I am going to try to get him to breed with my female that I caught last year (and is also featured in this thread).

Thanks for this snake Mike!

Zee gave this female to me in the Fall of last year. I can't remember which county (Scotland, Richmond, Hoke, or Moore).

Zee --- help me out here, I forgot! This is the female you caught with one of your sons.

Growing and getting some color, isn't she?

I caught this male in the Sandhills in April of this year. Michael Coone was standing right next to me. I just happened to pick the right tree.!

Michael Coone caught this girl as a hatchling -- she was barely 10 inches long - in April of last year. I think (but not sure) that we were in Hoke County. It was his first wild corn and it was the first time I was in the field and somebody caught a Corn snake. I wanted to club him with a tree trunk and take her from him! LOL!

He gave her to me last Fall and Mike --- she is doing great and NO NO NO you can't have her back (though I will give you some of her babies next year)
