Are TWO heads better than one?

Shane Kinney Jul 02, 2006 12:48 PM

Here's twins, a pastel and a normal hatching from the same egg. kind of cute, eh?

And here's a couple of the other pastels that hatched from the same clutch:

Have a happy 4th of July everybody and keep those pics coming of those awesome babies hatching!

do you have the stats on that egg?? egg weight, hatchling weight, etc. just wondering if the egg was bigger to hold the twins, or were the snakes smaller than usual, or maybe a combination of both?? thanx

Thats a good question.

And that is a cute pic of them comming out of the egg at the same time

I don't have an egg weight but the egg was identical in appearance and size to the others in the clutch. The twins are smaller that the other clutch mates and this has happened before here and with others where the twins egg is about the same size but the babies are smaller.

dumje Jul 02, 2006 04:45 PM

I always thought that if they came from the same egg they would be identical...but i guess not...1 normal...1 pastel.

Great picture, thanks for posting it! Twins are neat to see, its almost like getting a freebie. You gotta love mother nature, huh? I have had normal twins occur and they were not identical......anyone have twins that WERE identical?

...I would never post anything fake or photo shopped on here. I had twins hatch last year also from the same pastel male and a different normal female.

LKirkland Jul 02, 2006 11:25 PM

Nice looking pastels. Good luck with them.

P.S. Your girl is feeding for me. Keeping my fingers crossed she still might go this year.

Great pictures, and I love that pic with the two heads coming out of the egg ... they look adorable coming out of the egg anyway, but two heads are twice as cute
