Whitish mold on logs, is this dangerous?

crestygecko Jul 02, 2006 01:48 PM

I just finished putting together a new viv about 2 days ago. I noticed this morning that their is white mold growing all over the grapewood. It does not look like rot but I am still concerned. Does anyone know what it is??? Do I have reason to worry?? How do I get rid of it??

Nothing to worry about, it happens in 99% of newly set up vivs. It should be gone in a week or less. If you've seeded the tank with springtails it'll be gone even faster.
