Stupid Question Maybe about Albino Corn

elmezie Aug 01, 2003 09:37 PM

Yea i have an albino corn snake today and i fed it. Am i suppose to see a bulge or anything, cause i dont see one. I dont see the mouse anywhere in the aquarium so im assuming it did eat it. It grabbed the mouse and went back inside it's hide.

The "bulge" all depends on the size of the snake and the size of the food. Could you give a little more information. What size is the snake, how often are you feeding it, what size the food is? And if it grabbed it and took it into its hide, it most likely did eat, especially if its no longer in the tank.

Not a stupid question. The only stupid question in this forum is the one that you don't ask. You should see a bulge if the food was the right size. The apprioate (sp) size food should leave a bulge for about two days. How large is the snake? How big was the mouse.

The snake is about 2ft , its still a hatchling. I dont see a bulge anywhere, i was feeding it a pinky.

>>The snake is about 2ft , its still a hatchling.

Two-ft is more than a hatchling. Hatchling corns measure about 11 inches, very small hatchlings may be as short as nine inches, and very large may be as much as 13 inches. My yearling average size is about 27 inches long. Normal growth-rate is about one to one-point-five inches per month. So, if your baby is truly abot two-ft long, then I'd estimate it to be probably between eight to twelve months old.

>>I dont see a bulge anywhere, i was feeding it a pinky.

For a two-ft corn snake, one pinky mouse is a snack. It should be taking a meal of at least the size of a day-old rat pup, or a small fuzzy.

I fed the snake again, this time i watched it eat the pinky. But Still i didn't really see a bulge a few minutes after it ate. Maybe these are too small? Also in order to make my snake grow faster how often should i feed it?
