F1, 1st generation

ssshane Jul 02, 2006 08:37 PM

This may be a dumb question to some, but not to me. I know that a female born to WC parents is a F1 female. But what if it was a male, is it a M1? Thank you for your time.

f1 refers to ANY offsping in the first generation of a line.
I believe the f stands for "filial"
If you had two established CB animals which had not previously been bred, matters not how many genterations captive, their offspring would be f1 from that particular line, even though the parents might have been f4 from wc stock.
