Why in the world would you feed a mouse to your dragon?

Take the carrots and other veggies and greens and feed them to your dragon. Put the mouse in a cage and feed it seeds, pellets or other veggies...... VIOLA.... happy reptiles and mammals!

A mouse that is big enough to eat anything other than moms-milk is way to big for your beardie to eat. The biggest mouse you should ever feed your BD is a pinky. Even then, they shouldn't be fed often and only used under special circumstances (re-conditioning a female after laying, etc.). They are way to fatty to be fed regularly.

I have never fed a LIVE mouse to any of my BD's I prefer frozen thawed. It's more pleasant for everyone. And really, is there much difference between a live and a dead pinky? Neither move very much! A live adult or sub-adult mouse can cause serious damage when being fed to any animal (snakes included). They don't WANT to be eaten and will defend themselves! They have sharp little teeth. Is this really worth your BD losing an eye?

If you do decide to feed a pinky to your BD, be sure to use hemostats or LONG tweezers. It is hard for the BD to differentiate between the pinky and your finger. I've seen them bite pinks in half... that wouldn't feel good on your finger!

I had to post to SLIGHTLY disagree with some of the other posters. SOMETIMES it's ok to feed a mouse to a BD. But, like I said, only under certain circumstances and only SMALL ones!

Thanks!!
