goregrind Jul 03, 2006 07:16 PM

today i uncovered snapping turtle eggs in the topsoil pile and moved them to the manure pile. and i was wondering how long it takes for them to hatch? and if its ok for them to be turned over, cuz they got rolled alot.

Rolling around isn't horrible (definitely isn't preferable) unless they end up upside down from the direction the embryo was resting, could cause it to drown.

For future reference; mark the eggs with a dot or an X or whatever and try not to turn them. Be sure to keep the eggs in the position you found them in.
