Okeetee or Rosy

Foreman Jul 04, 2006 10:03 AM

I bought a corn snake from a pet store recently which simply had the snake labled as a corn. While it has lost it`s baby patterns it still hard to really tell the difference between these two corn snakes. I currrently have no pics yet. Can any help describe the differences between the two types? Thanks in advance.

I believe "Rosy" is another name for hypo. So then the two morphs you are asking about are the complete opposite...

According to the corn snake book I looked at it stated: The rosy rat snake

is found to the south of the Florida keys. This a much sought, somewhat smaller, color morph of the corn snake.

The reason I ask is because would not his snake be more expensive than an OKeetee?

The corn snake was called a rosy rat or red rat snake for quite a while before it was sub divided to its own catergory. Maybe they are using Rosy rat as just a general term for Corns? I don't know, just a thought.
