I hatched out this clutch from Het ax x normal. Half of the clutch is very dark with silverish flames. Any opinions on them?

I am just so proud of you.
If there were markers would that mean that they are codom?

No Rick thats not what that means. ( proud of that )
Are pieds co-dom?
Some het pieds have a marker.
He didn't say it was a visual morph just can you see a marker.
Does not a "certain" look vs the real homo make it so? My 100% het pieds do not have that special marker. Never believed in that theory.

Mine do.. And so does some offspring..

Ok the term you used was "some do." And yes, I can agree to that.

Very interesting question. Statistically speaking, half the clutch would be hets, so the fact that half of this clutch appear similar to each other yet different from the others is quite intriguing. Your best bet would of course be to keep back all the oddly colored snakes and breed them to an axanthic, het, or each other and see what pops out. I would probably go over each odd snake and each normal snake, meticulously taking note of what is different between the two.

Thanks Chance, I'll Definately take your advice...
I wouldn't say markers but I can say that all my 100% het axanthics that I have produced are some of the best looking normal (hets) snakes I have. They all are a really light colored gold with nice flames comeing up there sides just like yours. So maybe there is something to those? Keep us posted. Take care. Paul
what line of axanthic are they from....because i think a while back someone posted that they bred a pastel to a vpi axanthic and got some really pale yellow pastel but i dont know if they ever proved out.....maybe someone else knows here on this forum.....but that what ive heard...so i think some do have the markers and some dont.....
