Help...

Nicesharck Aug 01, 2003 10:14 PM

Hi,
I need some help. I did not latch the top of my grey tree frog tank and they got out. I have found one but the other is hiding very well. Is there some way to find him or do I just wait and see if he shows up? I do have 5 cats in my house and I am afraid that they will try and eat him. I have no way to lock up my cats so what should I do? Any suggestions would be a great help.
Thanks,
Robyn

The room that they escaped into, is there by chance a higher shelf or something along the walls? Perhaps put a water dish and a container high enough for some crix not to escape, up on a shelf and watch it. If you have vents on the walls, watch around those. One of my Cubans got out once and we found him near the AC vent on the wall trying to figure out how to get through it. Other than that, I would just keep watching the walls and areas around good hiding spots like behind the fridge, book cases, light fixtures and stuff like that.

I hope you find him! Good Luck!!!

Hi,
Thanks Heather
I did find him about 2:00Am. I was afraid to go to bed because of the cats. so I stayed in the room and waited. My female cat did started chasing something and low and behold it was him. I got it before she did thank God. I will say one thing they are great at camoflage(Sp?) I looked all over that room and still did not see him anywere. Both are safe and sound in their cage.
Thanks for the help. I will not forget to lock the cage again.

YAY!!! So glad you found him!!! What a relief huh? WAY better than finding a dried up husk... or worse yet... parts!

Glad they are both back in the security of their home!
