Well, I have made fatal mistake #1 one it comes to handling. I have a three year old red tail that is about 5.5 feet and tonight I have taken another hit from her. Its only the 3rd time but everytime I hold her I know one could be coming. My mistake was that for a long time for like 6 months she did not eat at one point. I have that back under control and she is eating away. I moved her from a vision cage to a big rubbermaid that does not get any light. I take her out once a week and let her roam when I clean her bowl but thats about it. Ever since she stopped eating I handled her less. Now I am afraid its to late and she will always be a nipper. It seems to always be while I am holding her I can pick her up move her with out any issues. I just don't like how she wraps so tight around my arm. I have two options as I see it. Work with her more take more hits or two just let her roam and just pick up and move and never really hold her again. First time I got hit was sitting watching TV and I laughed and she was going away from me and came back to bite, second was in the arm while holding her and tonight was the third I was just sitting there. Is it because I do not let her secure herself she is nervous.
Thanks
Jeff
