substrate question ?

i already bought this bag of substrate and didnt notice that it was not orchid bark. it is made from "fir bark". has anyone tried this stuff. it was on sale and the store was closing. i purchased it for my water dragons new enclosure i am building. well let me know. thanks

I'm pretty sure fir bark is used as an orchid bark so I think you're fine, assuming orchid bark is okay for your water dragon.

Yeap, "orchid" bark is actually fir bark. It's just called orchid bark since it's used to pot orchids. It comes in different sizes - small, medium, large, etc. And probably a lot cheaper if bought in 2 cubic foot bags from an orchid suppy vendor.

Its fine I have used it but not as nice looking as orchid bark . Than again most people arent as anal as I am so thats not an issue for them lol.
