They are fairly easy to breed. I have had success breeding them after just cutting back their heat source slowly over a couple months at night. Some brumate them but I did not.
Babies sell for $50 to $75 at shows. I think a reasonable price for young adults is about twice the hatchling price but some would expect more.
They are really cool snakes to keep. They have an aggressive feeding instinct like few others. Very laid back personality in general but watch your hands when feeding as they have a hell of a strike range. Good luck, Randy W.

thanks Randy W. now i am just wondering what about housing them could i just house them like my other snakes such as simple setup, newspaper, hide, water bowl also could i use rack system or vision also barrs cages and animal plastics since i use those cages for my snakes they are all up to 16 inches in heights but do i have to house beauties snakes in a large aboreals cage? if they are going to take up little space then i might not get them, i foucs more on simple and healthy cages. again thanks for any helps

A basic set up with newspaper, hide and water bowl is fine for them. BARRS cages are what I kept mine in which were just 12 inches high. They are not as arboreal as the other beauties and the type cages you mentioned are fine as long as they have plenty of floor space. Mine would sit out in the open most of the time, looking out the glass when you came into the room appearing to be waiting for that next rat to be thrown in. Randy

ok great and thanks alot for the help and info. do taiwan max out at 8 feet in length? how big do they usally reach mostly? but sure they are smaller than my burmese lol.
thanks

8 ft. is a generally in the maximun size range but some have been measured in the 9 ft. range. They have a larger girth than the other beauties which makes for an impressive colubrid when full grown. I have a 9 ft. 3 inch blue beauty when last measured and an 8ft. female taiwan I had was at least 40 % heavier than the blue. Here is a pic of my blue male about 3 years ago when he was a little under 9 ft. Randy

thanks,

colurbridman, great info as usual on the beauty species. i have a blue beauty female and shes growing like a weed, she eats two adult mice every week, cept when shes in shed. lemme tell you its a great species to get into, i think im gonna start looking into the tawainese species. i didnt know the basic differences between the blues and the tawains. for instance i knew the blue's were usually bigger but i didnt know the tawains get thicker. and also the husbandry, i know the blues need a lot more humidity to be able to shed properly and are more aboreal so i need more of a higher set up for viv. but going back do the original post i think its a great snake to get into i would go for the purchase!

He is 7 years old this year but was over 8 ft. when he was 3 years old. He eats medium size rats. Randy
