FR, anyone?

Has anyone successfully hatched out eggs dissected from gravid roadkills? I found two gravid roadkills fresh (not lampropeltis but pituophis) the same night as a female that looked like it had recently laid, and I figured I'd give it a shot, was wondering if anyone else has tried and succeeded.

I have done it successfully with roadkilled turtles, I think if you search the available databases for turtle medicine/wildlife rehab, you should find some references. while there are some differences between the two types of eggs, I say give it 100%.

I suck on this one. I have never hatched an egg from any kind of road kill. I have tried.

On the otherhand, my childhood buddy hatched some snapping turtle eggs, he found scattered all over the road.

In my case, in the desert, the roads are very very hot and anything reptile cannot stay there for very long. I would have to see the gravid female get hit. She would have to already shelled her eggs.

Normally gravid females are at the nest when they shell the eggs, so they are not likely to get hit. But it does happen on very rare cases(disturbed nesting) Good luck with yours, Cheers
