Sibon nebulata gravid:

Oxyrhopus Jul 05, 2006 08:56 PM

She arrived packed with eggies.

My incubator overflowith with eggies this year.

And yep, I will be in contact with friends to distribue the babies.

Notice how her pattern mimics lance-head vipers. Neat.

Congratulations on the pregnancy!

I have a question for you, have you ever seen any weird defense mechanisms with the latin-american snail-eaters?

I keep a couple of southeast asian species, and some of them act in a very peculiar way when frightened.

I have not noted any odd behavior. All they do is hide their heads or take off like most snakes.

I have noted that when hungry, they will nudge a snail over and wait for it to emerge from its shell - and wait very patiently until it is out and then wamo, grab onto it and one I have here holds on for half a day or more until the snail dies and it can suck it out of the shell.
