Has anyone ever bred a eastern box with a three toe, would it be ok, and what would it look like?

Has anyone ever bred a eastern box with a three toe, would it be ok, and what would it look like?

They can and do breed. They can look like a bunch of different things it all depends which genes they inheriet from which parents.
Many people don't do it because it takes away eggs from a species that isn't doing to good in the wild. Mainly because of human devlopment, and influence. And nobody really wants hybrids.

I have three "mutt" babies from eastern/three-toed breeding. They are actually quite drab looking, very plain, but otherwise healthy. They are two years old. At the time they hatched, and last years hatch time, discussions were had that I was a part of about mutts. Really the conclusion was that most people want to know the species they have, and that mutts were better avoided if possible.
Since my first round of mutts (which surprised me), I have kept my species separated. I also keep only one male with each of my eastern groups, so I can tell who is the father of any hatchlings from those groups.

so you can see a comparison of same aged turtles... this is a few months old, the easterns have gotten even more orange and yellow since then.
