Texans hatching...

Mike Meade Jul 06, 2006 01:35 PM

After a long wait (108 days)4 of my erebennus eggs pipped last night and this morning 2 perfect babies were out of the shell.

Out of the original 16 eggs 10 of them have made it this far, so hopefully I'll get a few more babies.

I'll try to post some pics later.
Thanks Dean!

Those have to be some of the largest babies have seen!

Again, congratulations on a job well done!

Coming from you that means a lot!

I'm up to 6 now and am thinking I need to leave town for the weekend so I don't drive myself crazy checking them.

I incubated them on the cool side (mid to upper 70s)which may account for their size. They are mean as heck, I have had to separate them as soon as there are 2 or they start attacking each other.

I need to get some unrelated offspring from you so I can keep having this much fun for years.

Thanks again and keep us posted on your hatchings.

Mike

Those guys are HUGE or your hands are SMALL

They're beauties I have to say. Best of luck with them.

That must be it! No, I'm 6'5" and closer to 300 lbs. than I need to be. These are some bodacious babies.

I'll have to take the pic while my wife holds them, then they'll look huge (she's 5'0".

Those babies are huge….

Good going Mike. Those babies look like yearlings.

I had three Eastern eggs pip this morning. The rest should follow soon. Incubated slowly at 78 degrees took 102 days.

Thanks to you Jeff the rest of my clutch made it. Pictures to follow once the little beggars decide to come out. What a feeling of accomplishment seeing those little heads poking out.

This is the part that makes it all worth while!

The hard part is finding people that want to buy those ugly babies! LOL
