My new Sambava male

BadBoid Aug 01, 2003 11:31 PM

Here are a few shots of my new young male Sambava. He's only about 71/2 months, so it'll be interesting to see how his colors develop. You can see, when he is relaxes he has a nice light green background, with blue bars and bits of red in the bars and along the underside. But when he fires up, he will flush all the the blue out of his bars producing a deep red (with no browns) and his green will fade to intense oranges and reds. In the picture I have up here he isnt quite fired up. He will lose ALL of his green when hes real agitated. Another cool phase is when he flushes all the blues out of his bars, but keeps the greens. His christmas colors, I guess...

Sorry to ramble on, but I am really impressed with this guys colors (compared to many of the Sambava pics I have seen on the net) and they should only get better as he ages. Let me know what you guys think...

I bought him from Chameleon Condo, though Im not sure if he bred him or just raised him. This guy aughta make some nice babies, though. I think he's gonna be called 'Primus' since he's the first panther for our breeding project.
