set out hides on the edge of fields that dont get cut or plowed.then check them several times a day.i catch them several times a year.

sweet, thansk, glad to know they exist. what kind of hides are you talking about? i know in an area where theres a lot of snakes i once put a black trash bag and once in a while thered be a milk or garter inside it, but like lay out slabs of wood or something or bags?
Oh they do indeed exist.
I used to find them all the time as a kid. Haven't seen one for years however.
Obviously their camoflage is excellent in their environment, so they can be tricky to spot.
I used to find them in my mothers garden all the time. Lots of plants for them to hide in, but not TOO much to block your search. Plus they'd have plenty of insects to eat.
