Does anyone know what kind of laws Florida has concerning large snakes? I may be moving to Florida soon and would like to know if I'm going to be forced to lose my babies. I have burmese, red tails and a ball. Thank you,

Florida currently has no LAWS specific to large constrictors. Bills came up in both the house and senate this last session to require a $100 annual permit, secure caging, periodic inspections and a few other minor things. They were still stuck in committee when the session ended, but are lakely to come up again next session. FWC would decide what species were covered.
Meanwhile FWC is considering whether to add them to their list of wildlife requiring permits. Last I heard, no decision had been made, but it seems likely they will do this. I think the only real question will be whether it's Class III (no fee and they CAN inspect), Class II ($140 a year and they DO inspect) or some creative combination like a Class III and also requiring a Class III exhibition permit ($50 a year).
Either way, burms and retics will probably require permits soon. Red tails maybe. Balls almost certainly not.
