It's been some time since I have seen any replies to a post about balls that go through a color change. Others have responded that they change with each shed. After losing much of their yellow and looking axanthic, they will shed out and once again show color. I've seen some that were referred to as IMG, increase melanin gene.
Although I have never seen a post with proof that it is genetic or special, I think they make a nice dinking project.
