To Prospective Buyers - Suggestion

Christy Talbert Jul 07, 2006 09:14 AM

Hi all,

Everytime I have animals for sale, I get emails that look like this:

"what is your best price"

"ill give you ________" (1/3 the asking price)

These correspondences have no name (not even a first name!), no contact information, nothing at all that would suggest this person can put two sentences together, let alone make a purchase of several thousand dollars. Who would take such an offer or inquiry seriously? Not me.

So, for you buyers out there, at the very least include your first and last name in your inquiry so it has some credibility.

I don't think you can emphasize this enough. To me it doesn't matter if I'm selling a colubrid for a few dollars or a high end ball for thousands. I don't know you and my first impression is not very positive when you cannot send an email that includes your name. Sometimes I just delete these and move on. Other times I wait to see if there is a second email that includes a name and contact information.

And then they complain Breeders don't reply to their e-mails, I wonder why, good point Christy...
