Hi Paul,
I stuck to the advance on Deans Indigo care sheet. 78 degrees for 102 days.

How are your Black milks doing? Any babies this year?

I have about 10 good eggs so far. Last year many went bad along the way, so I'm hoping for better luck this year.

Congratulations Dann, how many are out now? I'm up to 8 Texans with one more egg pipped and one more that looks good but no action yet.

Good luck with your babies!

Got 6 nice looking Easterns.

Had 13 eggs, 3 were slugs, obvious. 3 more of them looked good but molded and collapsed 7 to 10 days into incubation, infertile. One I screwed up day 80 with too much moisture in the medium. It caused the egg to split at the base. I tried to save it with liquid bandage….But. Lesson learned.

I felt just like you did when I saw the first baby out. Within two days I had five out. My hold out egg (largest one) finally hatched yesterday. I will pop them later next week and find out male to female count.

This forum works. The collective efforts and information of the Breeders on this forum make the difference. In the future it may be the only thing that saves the Eastern and Texan Indigo

I will post better pictures with a different camera.

Mike you did an awesome job this year. I need to see more pictures of those huge snakes.

Yeah, I lost 4 or so eggs due to too much moisture and them splitting. You live and learn. Congratulations on the babies!!!!

How are those Black Tails doing? Any of them shed yet? Do you have a male / female count?

Dann Jul 11, 2006 06:25 PM

I cant hold snakes and take pictures.

Mike Meade Jul 11, 2006 08:11 PM

I know what you mean about holding them and taking pics. I fear getting bit on the nose.

bthacker Jul 12, 2006 10:15 AM

they are doing good. They have all shed but have yet to eat. I tried the other day with no success to feed them. I tried brained pinkies, egg dipped and snake gut scented with no success. A couple mouthed them like they were going to eat them but let go. I will try again here in a few days and I haven't got a count on ratio yet.....Good luck!

Fish scenting. It may bring them around. My cribos and indies love fish.I buy frozen smelt.

I cant wait to breed my Black Tails. Both will be ready this year.

Let me know what you get them to take....

"Blackie" is doing great by the way.
Bob.

Thanks for the up date also. Blackie is a very cool snake. Glad he is with someone that takes care of him.

Thanks Bob.
