Another Ball Python?

taedingo Jul 08, 2006 07:48 AM

I have a male ball python is a 65 gallon enclosure and I was wondering weather or not Ball Pythons cared to have company. I don't want to breed them but if it would give my ball somthing to be cheery about, I'd gladly buy another.

Anyone know?

Ball Pythons are pretty much solitary animals unless they are breeding.

Plus, if you house two together and one gets sick, the other will as well.
Or what if one regurgitates a meal? You won't know which one.

If you want to get another...get it it's own cage.

Ah, yeah, I hadn't even really thought of that. I guess Fransisco is fine on his own, then! I want to get another snake though...do you have any suggestions for a good pet friendly snake that maxes at about 6 feet?

corn snakes max out in the 5' or so range are slimmer than balls, and also are pretty mellow much like balls.corn morphs are pretty cool and you can pick them up for as much as or cheaper than a normal ball python.good luck to you with your snake. Lee

Couldn't you divide your 65 gallon enclosure and still have plenty of room for 2 balls?

Just my thought.

That would work...except for the sickness part.
If one snake got sick, the other one would too...

I say get a corn snake. They do make amazing pets.

Or just get another ball...and give it it's own tank.

Either way you win.
