Arizona Monsoons

coloradocrotalus Jul 08, 2006 09:34 AM

hey everyone, i'm planning on taking a herping trip out to the Tucson, Phoenix, Nogales areas in early August, i've been looking at the weather and it seems like the monsoons haven't happened yet, I was in Phoenix in May and they hadn't had any rain at all and nothing was active except for some lizards. I was wondering if the Monsoons ever bomb-out like the spring did this year, or do they always come no matter what?Any info any one could share about wheather in arizona would be great, thanks a lot

Isaiah

They are saying the pre monsoons have started. See my post below on AZ herping. Good luck.

I'm in the Phoenix area and have been for about 4 years. From what I hear the monsoons are less intense than they used to be, but for the most part we get some rain. It has rained a bit in the last week or so (here anyway, I think they got more N and S), and I think that we have a chance for the next week or so. Drop me an e-mail if you don't mind a tag-along when you come. I don't know any hotspots or anything, cause I don't get out very much.
