But Jeff Ronne has a thread on his forms about it. They recommend 50mg/kg, But I think that is far more than needed. I used about 15mg/kg on a girl I have thats been having trouble for a while and after 5 injections she was as good as new.

so the math is:
1cc = 50mg or about 1cc per 4 kilograms (8.8 pounds). The girl I used it on is about 22 - 23 lbs so I gave her a little under 3cc's per dose.

Sorry if I'm not making a lot of sense, I'm really tired and don't feel well. Anyway good luck.

I have a 6 lbs male that was making more of a snoring sound once in a while. He seemed fine though when you got him out no more wheezing or anything so I uped[sp?] his temps an instead of getting better he started getting worse,So I got the tylan today an relowered his temps back down to normal an he seems to be doing better. But I feel its a good idea to go ahead an treat him for this has been going on for 2 or 3 weeks. Thanks alot.Eric

My Mader book has a chart which lists a one time dose of 25 mg/kg. For Tylan 50 that is about .2 cc per pound. The injection is into the muscle. Snakes seem to have a very high tolerance for Tylan, so you could probably treat again in a few days. Tylan can be pretty effective against mycoplasms (a nasty little bacteria without a cell wall, not well understood), but if it doesn't work you may have a regular bacterial infection, where a combination of Fortaz and Amikacin can be effective, but extremely hard on the kidneys (you have to hydrate the animal). One of the best treatments I have found for respiratory is increasing the heat and humidity, while keeping the cage immaculately clean.

I am keeping his humidity up an he has still been eating on a normal schedule. His stool an uerates look normal. An I keep his cage clean as soon as I catch a mess. These hot an kool spells we have been having don't help matters none in my area.I appriciate the information,Thanks alot.Eric[Hypoboa]

Remember that we are talking about Tylan 50, mine is Tylan 200. Basically it is four times the strength. The dosing I got from my Vet is .11 cc(or 11 IU's if you are looking at a diabetic syringe) per pound of body weight.
