" Im always working, thats why im there on mon. and wed. for now..which yea i know,it gonna take quite a bit of time for my venomous license..but oh well"

I hope you got your VRL and you are not keeping the T. Albolabris illegally.

FLAohHerper Jul 08, 2006 09:25 PM

Very good observation,I do not have my VRL yet, however I am not keeping the snake personally with me at the time.It is with someone legally I can assure you.I am not going to risk getting caught and having the lisence process suspended for 3 years..I REALLY don't have that time..but it is good that people are looking out...Anyway,the problem does still stand...any suggestions or help..

Thanks,
Mike

Has it fed yet? I start mine off on young Med Geckoes and Cricket Frogs for the first couple of feedings. Than I tease feed them with f/t day old pinkies (some people just use the heads). They seem to feed more readily on f/t than live for me. I tap them on the tail with a forseps held pinkie until they strikle it and hold on. Tapping them on the side of the head also sometimes works. I maintain a grip on it until they start swallowing the head. Than I very slowly release the pinkie so as not to startle it and I back off slowly. I also do this after dark and using a dim light in the room. I have a litter of 21 that started feeding 2 days ago and they are about 2 weeks old.

I've never had to force feed them. When was it born? How do you have it set-up? I keep mine in a 6" deli cup with a wooden dowel rod perch, paper towel for substrate, and a small water bowl. They are kept at 78 - 80 degrees room tempearture. They can be stubborn sometimes and you just have to be patient. I've had some go for a couple months before feeding for the first time.

Tim,
I have it in a 5 Gallon aquarium,a live plant with a water dish, branch, and paper towels on the bottom..and a heat lamp. The temp is around 80 and it gets misted once a day..so the best way is just to keep at it...great,this will be fun

Thanks,
Mike

I would double check your temps. A 5 gallon tank and a heat lamp sounds hot. Of course it depends on the wattage bulb you are using.
How old is the snake and was it feeding prior to you having it?

Well Yes it may be a bit hot in there..I may go with a small sweater box for it for a while..and its only a few weeks old and to my knowledge has not has his first meal or shed..i BELIEVE..but I may be wrong...so I know, that makes it worse..
