i was just walking to the store when i noticed something hopping in the street. i picked it up, brought it in, started searching the web, and learned that what i have is a western toad, bufo boreas. i was unable to find, though, any info on how to take care of it. i have a pretty good idea of what to feed it (crickets, waterbugs, etc), but i have no idea of how to house him/her.

I'd go out and get some coconut fiber substrate 9it goes by the name forest bed, bed a beast or eco earth.) it comes in a brick form which you add water to and it expands and feels like soil. Then I'd put in a shallow water plate/bowl for the toad, so it is easily accessible. A hiding spot, like those hollow logs you can get at the pet store would be good also. A ten gallon tank is good enough for a small toad.
