Not realy pregnant?

JOYride Jul 09, 2006 05:06 AM

I posted a little more than a month ago picture of my two little collareds, and I thought female could be carrying eggs.
She had much more heavier body than male and she is still fatter.
But the problem is, it's been more than a month and she still hasn't laid aggs. I read it should in about 25 days.
She is little more dull colurs lateley, but I'm realy not sure what is going on. Is she realy pregnant or just fat?

It sure looks like she was gravid to me. However, they can resorb their eggs and never lay them, so that could be what's happening with your girl.

They certainly have pretty colors and good body condition. Those are beautiful lizards.

I have had some girls that take longer than the normal 22 - 24 days. Some of mine have gone into the 32nd day and layed. She is quite large, like Elan said she also can re-absorb, in which case you would see her get more dull with time and slowly lose her girth.

I had 3 yellowheaded ladies gavid this season and all three became dull and never layed. Very frustrating. I think I have more of a male problem though, not very interested in the girls.

Hang in there, and just wait a little longer to see if she lays.
