I can't see that they are, Eve. Otis is still hunting and eating, but he is more reclusive than normal and that worries me. Cadence is not as sick as Saige, and she is still a bit plump. Saige is pitiful, she is thin and she flails around blindly in the cage without opening her eyes. Sometimes she will just freak, and squirm about like something is trying to get her. But usually she leans against the glass with her head up. Her tail twitches a lot...like the cat thing, before they pounce. She looks like she has eggs going, too. Cadence does come out during the day and sits under a light with her head up. She never moves from the spot until she goes under for the night. Neither girl has labored breathing, and the stringy mucous has lessened. I am giving the 2 girls forced feedings, pedialyte, calcium and antibiotics daily. I moved Saige into the small enclosure on paper towels, and I had to move Otis inside with Cadence because it has rained and rained outside and I cannot leave him there. All 3 see the vet tomorrow and I will probably start Otis on antibiotics as well. I'm just sick, I have had all of them over 2 years now and I feel so helpless. Thanks for all your concern and help.

We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.

Well, I know if they are to have any chance of surviving this, it is because they are in your capable hands.

Hi Valerie,
I am sorry to hear about your little guys, I know it can be upsetting but remember a lot of people have their fingers crossed for you. I read your post last night before going to bed and said a little something in my head for whoever might be listening....
I have a brilliant pair of rough green snakes, one of which became emaciated due to shedding problems. We never found out what caused it, and for weeks we thought we would lose him (they stress easily without health problems), but with lots of care and good wishes he's now bigger and healthier than ever. Doesn't always work out that way but I got my fingers and toes crossed for you, and from what I see plenty of other do too x x x
Have ya ever tried herbs?
Funny sounding, but many people use it for pet rats as they get respiratoy infection all the time caused by a virus or bacteria called Murine Mycoplasmosis.
Some so not respond to antibiotics, so they use a few drops of the herb Echinacea in their food. How often I can find out from a friend who has a rattery. Just another option if nothing else is working.
