Hey Everyone,

I haven't been active on these forums for a good 5-6 years, but I thought I'd share an interesting expirience I recently had with my 6 year old female leo, Eko. In late February she decided to stop eating. I offered the usual mealies, crickets, and even tried wax worms to see if those would entice her. I continued to keep calcium and vitamin supplements availabe to her. All to no avil. There weren't any signs of impaction or the like. She continued to refuse to eat until two nights ago. That's almost five months without food!! She has been eating voraciously these last two nights and I hope that she fattens back up in the coming weeks. Just goes to show how hardy these animals are.

Yeah, that goes to show how tough they are. I heard these guys have fat storage at the base of their tails for this purpose...in time of long famine. Thus they can go a long time without food; that's what they are designed to do. As for the question why your gecko went off feed; i haven't the slightest idea. And...good luck to you!
