bugs in plants..

Bergmantis Jul 09, 2006 06:26 PM

I just bought some tropical plants today (ardisia humilis) and one unknown, and I think there might be some small brown mite-like bugs in one of them. are they harmful to my frogs? should i try to get rid of them, or not put them in my terrarium?

thanks,
mat

Get rid of them, you never know what you could be introducing in there.

What I do is to remove all dirt and then wash the plant and roots in dechlorinated water. Then I put it into my tank, I'm mostly using vermiculite covered by river rock for the soil since my plantings get washed in the waterfall and soil would wash away.
