4 horned chameleon temp question

Bianca Jul 09, 2006 07:21 PM

Hello
I keep a pair of Jacksons in outside enclosure (Miami) . The male was actually found in Everglades 2 yrs ago.
I am interested in other types and recently read in reptile mag that the 4 horned chameleon will stress and die if temps over 70.

Has anyone kept/keep any ? I imagine you keep inside with AC on 24/7 . I would never have thought any chamaleopn would do well at such low temps during the day (night drop I can understand).

thanks

Bianca

This is a very reliable source of information for quadricornis...
http://adcham.com/html/taxonomy/species/chquadricornis.html
"The ideal daytime temperatures are 72º to 76ºF (22 to 25ºC) accompanied by a relative humidity of 70% or higher. If you cannot provide such high humidity then it is very important to provide plenty of drinking water. "
