Hog's head hanging to the side

Aggie1996 Jul 09, 2006 10:30 PM

My Eastern Hog's head is kind of hanging to the side as he's in the tank, and when I pick him up. He seems fine other than that. I was talking to a vet friend of mine, and he seems to think it might be "chripto spiridia" (or a virus that is untreatable). Any suggestions?

It defineteley sounds like a neurological problem. I would keep that one as far away from my collection as possible! If your snake starts 'star gazing' and stops flicking its tongue then your snake is in trouble. Kevin

Hmm "Star Gazing" Im assuming that you refere to the disease IBD. Its my understanding, that its only a virus that Boa's get, and is harmless for other snakes. But I agree with the advise to keep it as far a way from the rest of the animals in case, of another kind of virus...
