still coughing, i just love to worry

jeune18 Jul 10, 2006 07:43 PM

so walter well isn't coughing but still breathes deep and sleeps all the time. he got sick at the end of may. is this normal? he was on baytril this whole time til the other day when another vet switched him to i think doxycycline. my normal vet has been out of town and is out of town for the next week.

i really need to take midge in because she is acting weird. she keeps one eye closed all the time and doesn't poop much. the eye she keeps closed is the same eye that was swollen in stew, i wonder if obstication is contagious. she went in with me to the vet with walter but i like my normal vet better because she keeps them for the day or maybe even night to watch how they are acting. i give midge mineral oil, water and of course her fortaz. that one vet said to give her mineral oil until she was pooping normally again but she didn't really say how much, any suggestions?

Geesh been that sort of month or so. I'm sorry to hear they still are having prolems, has been awhile. But virus/resp infections and things take so long to clear up.

I think meds seem to take their toll on these lil creatures too, I know at times it's nessesary but still kicks their butts. As far as how much mineral oil to get things going, NOT MUCH, I would only use a couple/few drops on a cricket. Don't want her to get the runs either.

Is she gettign enough water? I ask because when they are not they can become a bit constipated.

Hang in there.

I think you and I are in the running for the title of biggest worrier--what do you think? I think I have a jump on you, as I have been worrying about my lizards' health for . . . oh heck, I don't even know how many years it's been. And now I'm worried for YOUR lizards, not just mine.

Well, as Kellybee said, my fingers are crossed for you. It's about time for your luck to turn.
