Hey guys! I'm getting an albino nelson milk snake (male).. and I originally planned for a female.. so now I don't have a name for the little guy and I'm at a loss for one. Any help? I don't like names normally given to snakes liek slither.. or things like that.. but yeah thanks a head of time!

I named all of mine after Star Wars characters. I'm not some Star Wars nerd or anything (in fact I haven't even seen all the movies), but I just thought it would be kind of funny.

California King - "Chewbacca"
Mexican Black King - "Darth Vader"
Rosy Boa - "Han Solo"
Kenyan Sand Boa - "Jabba"

I also used to have a (female) Striped California King named "Anakin". My Rubber Boas don't have names yet.

How about Nelson?

I don't name my snakes. Snakes that I have which I collected have catalog numbers, but otherwise no names. They don't come when I call them, even if they do have names so why bother?

I have gone with some of the golden oldie actor names. I have an Astaire and a Bogart. Most times though, I wait until I have had the snake a week or so. They each have their own personality, and a lot of times I find myself calling them something without realizing it. They kinda name themselves that way.

My kingsnake names:

California:
Male: Harry (Don't ask me why - I don't know)
Male: Joe Cool (I just call him "Joe"
Male: Billy the Kid (I just call him "Billy"
Female: Cassandra (from Stargate SG1)

Arizona Mountain:
Female: Lizzy

Lizzy is named after Elizabeth Taylor.
I also have a cat named Cleopatra - also after Elizabeth Taylor.
Yes - I'm an Elizabeth Taylor fan. At least her earlier stuff (National Velvet, etc.)

-=-

My alligator lizard (female) is named Allie.
Yeah yeah - cliche, but she is mamed after the first Lizard I ever caught as a kid, also an alligator lizard. So it's only cliche because she's named after a cliche name I chose over 20 years ago.

Go with the play on words! He's a milk snake, name him after a local dairy brand

Yes, I've done this with mine.. Frito (corn snake, corn chips), Tang (creamsicle, named for an orange drink), Raynham (ghost, for a ghost sighting). It entertains me, at least!
