A New Project...

wetceal Jul 11, 2006 05:59 PM

I just wanted to share some photos of a new project we're looking forward to working with.

We are not exactly sure what this girl is except that she's pretty cool looking! She has several characterisitics in common with proven T-positive/Caramel Albino lines but also doesn't quite look like them. She has a purple colored tongue and body coloration that resembles T-positive albinism but her eyes really don't appear red.

I've tried shining a flashlight at her eyes to see if the light would diffuse through but it doesn't seem to. The light seems to be reflected back. She doesn't have any solid black coloration on her body. All the dark color appears to be either a dark brown or almost a dark purple. She also lacks the black outlining that you usually see around the tail saddles. What outlining she does have around her tail saddles appears to be almost a smokey greyish-purple color. Her coloration also varies quite a bit between a "light phase" and a "dark phase".

Anyways, I'm not sure what she is or what we will be breeding her to (possibly a male Caramel Albino from VPI's line) but I am enjoying watching her grow!

As always, any thoughts/opinions are appreciated and welcomed!

Thanks for looking,
Celia

Well, whatever she is, Celia, she looks like something special! The comparison shots are very nice. I love her red side medalions! Are there black specs on her back or are they also the dark purplish? (it's odd how the lightest snakes still have those black specs sometimes!) Looks like the start of a great project, good luck and I hope you post pics of the eventual outcome!

What were the parents?

you have a lot of sleepless nights ahead of you wondering what she'll produce! I can see the T pos. resemblence you're talking about. Did you and Sean produce her? She's a beauty Celia and good luck with that one.

p.s. Great pics. as usual.

I couldn't resist!!! LOL!!!

Hey Celia...I think that animal is absolutely amazing first of all!!! Congrats on producing her!

I think that will prove to be an exciting project! I say it looks T positive to me....but that is just my opinion....
I know I would love her in my collection...

Did you produce any others that looked like her?? Any males??? Also what kind of litter is she from? Any pics of the rest or the parents?

Ok...I would also love....LOVE to see an update on those most spectacular Hypos you two produced! Any info update on them is also very much welcome....it looks like no Daytona for me so I would love to see the pics! Take care, Andy Federico

We actually did not produce that girl. We were lucky enough to get her from a breeder/friend of ours who got her from a hobbyist that had two adults that he bred together. Unfortunately, we have no background information on her lineage whatsoever so we're pretty much working blind here. As far as I know, both parents were normal appearing boas.

And Andy - I'll snap some updated photos of those strange Hypos for you sometime this week!

Thanks,
Celia
