I was just curious and was thinking... how long do you think it will be before we see ghost BRB for sale? I know there is the capability right now for anery/hypo double hets...any predictions?

Mike already produced double hets in 2005, could be ghosts produced in 2008. Ghosts in BRB's will be harder as both traits are recessive and require both genes from both parents for it to happen. 1/16th probability from het to het breeding

Another few quick questions while I'm on the subject of color morphs - has anyone proved out the calico yet, or was it just an anomoly? Also I've seen pics of albinos, how many people are producing these guys?
Thanks,

These are good questions. It's an exciting time to be breeding BRB's. John Berry is releasing a book on color morphs for Rainbow boas, ball pythons, bloods and carpets. His book is due out in August.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't know that the anery or the calico BRB's have been proven. At this point, the only "proven" morph is hypomelanism. As for the albino, rumors are really starting to flare. There is an albino columbian that has been made public. At this point, the albino BRB hasn't made an appearance. When it does, things will get pretty cool. With hypos, we'll be able to produce sunglows and if the ghost project works out we'll be able to make snows. I'll stop now before I get carried away...

This just confirms that I need to buy a book on color morphs because a lot of these terms begin to confuse me - can someone recommend a good one? I have given up on keeping track of all the ball python morphs out there for now because it seems as though the numbers keep expanding exponentially. I am excited about them all as well. So the pictures of the albino rainbow posted to the photo gallery part of this site are columbian rainbows?
